MONTANA More than 40% Complete (posted 2/9/18)

This week PCU MONTANA SSN 794 (the eventual USS MONTANA) is officially 41.85 complete, according to Newport News Shipbuilding and Navy personnel.

A recent article in the Great Falls Tribune has more detail on the status, based on a USS Montana Committee presentation to the statewide Veterans of Foreign Wars leaders.

Other presentations are scheduled in the near future and guests are encouraged:

  • In Butte on February 20, USSMTC Chairman Bill Whitsitt will speak to the Exchange Club. The meeting starts at 12 Noon, with a no-host lunch, although you may want to arrive a bit early. Location is the Second Floor conference room of Resodyn (old Hennessy Building), using the 16 East Granite Street entrance.   • In Missoula on February 21, the presentation will be for Missoula Rotary Club members and guests. Location is the Governor’s Room on the Second Floor of the Florence Building (111 North Higgins). There will be a no-host buffet lunch starting at 11:45 am. Coordinator is Victoria Emmons at 925.699.9421.
