USS MONTANA CO & Crew Thank Montanans and Cheer the Griz by Video at Military Appreciation Game (posted 11-14-22)

At the University of Montana’s annual football Military Appreciation Game on November 12, the commanding officer of SSN 794, CDR Jon Quimby, and his crew were there by big screen video to thank Montanans for their support – not only of the MONTANA, but of veterans and active-duty military who will be veterans one day.

The stadium announcer introduced the “Vigilantes of the Deep” while UM ROTC cadets were seen doing a traditional push-ups celebration of another touchdown in the blow-out game against Eastern Washington. And as you’ll hear in the video of the presentation, the crew’s “Go Griz” cheers were much appreciated by the fans!

The video continued a fun tradition of the crew’s equal-opportunity support of Big Sky Country teams.

When MSU was in the FCS quarter finals last December, playing James Madison University in Virginia, crew members were there with “Go ‘Cats!”. And on Fridays when logo caps are allowed to be worn with uniforms, Montana colleges and high schools are well-represented.
